PROJECTS AND SERVICES

 

 

1. ORIENTATIONS

Orientations are informational sessions where the participant will learn about LEDC, how we work, what it means to become a member of the organization, and what are the benefits of being a member. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn and discuss the basic steps of starting a business. Attending an orientation is the first step to start receiving technical assistance from LEDC.

2. MICRO-ENTREPRENEUR TRAINING COURSE

If you desire information about how to start a business in the state of Minnesota or if you wish to amplify your business knowledge for your business, we offer the micro-entrepreneur training course.This training course consists of 16 training sessions, 8 of which are in a classroom setting, and 8 are individual sessions. During this course the student is guided though the process of writing a business plan according to their business idea.

3. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

We work one on one with each of our customers so we can understand and provide answers to the various needs for each specific business. Our advisors will work step by step with our customers to guide them through the process of obtaining the necessary licenses and permits to start operating a business in the state of Minnesota.

4. FINANCIAL WORKSHOPS AND MODULES

The Finance Program for Small Businesses consists of various

directed workshops to those who wish to expand their fininacial knowledge. Some of the workshops that we provide include: Administration Systems, Basic Accounting, Cash Flow, Taxes, Requirements for a Food Business, and more.

5. LATINO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INICIATIVES WITHIN THE STATE

Due to the growth and demand for technical assistance on teh part of Latino businesses in the state, LEDC has been encouraged to create a program for local development. The goal of this program is to creat the capacity within the Latino Community and in accordance with the economic development needs in rural areas.

6. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Economic Development Center (LEDC) is proud to announce its initiative dedicated to ensuring the economic success of future Latino generations of Minnesota.  Latino entrepreneurs, community leaders, local foundations, and local businesses have come together to develop a scholarship fund aimed at supporting talented, aspiring Latino students who would like to build their futures through higher education.

Our programs at the Latino Economic Development Center are designed to provide assistance in different areas of entrepreneurial activity, from a micro-entrepreneur training course in how to write a business plan, business opening phase assistance, real estate purchase and lease contracts, financial assistance, annual performance review, implementing a basic bookkeeping plan, etc.
