The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) is proud to announce its initiative, for the second year, dedicated to ensuring the economic success of future Latino generations of Minnesota.

This year at least one $3,000 scholarship will be awarded.  Applications* will be accepted from March 1st thru March 31st, 2007.  The scholarship(s) will be awarded at LEDC’s Annual Meeting to be held on May 9th, 2007.

Eligibility

• A MN high school senior graduating this year and entering any MN institution of post-secondary education in the fall of 2007. 

• One or both parents must have been born outside of the U.S. in from a Latin American* country (son or daughter of immigrants).

Selection Criteria

• Academic performance (minimum of 2.5 GPA)

• Financial need

• Educational Goals

• Leadership in the Latino community

• Preference will be given to those ineligible for local or federal government funds for college.
