The career counseling program works with individuals to assess both job market and training opportunities in order to improve current job conditions. Our counselors conduct an initial interview, work one on one with clients to provide guidance and integrate them into the program. The following are some of the placement services that we offer:

Placement This program seeks to provide individuals with all the tools needed to get a job. The following are some of the placement services that we offer:
Connecting Employers with Job Seekers LEDC works with many qualified job seekers from throughout the Twin Cities metro area. They have varied skills including light industrial, janitorial, bilingual customer service, food service, hospitality, manufacturing and more. We connect employers and job seekers with our "Employment Opportunities" listserve. If your company has job openings that you want to be included in our listings, please contact Julisa at julisa@ledc-mn.org with your name, your company's name, contact information and a short description of your company and openings.
Connecting Job Seekers with Employers Our career counseling services are open to everyone and are free of charge. EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS: Basic English Language Learning This introductory course will help Spanish speakers with little to no experience with the English language get a firm grip on the fundamentals of English.
Intermediate English Language Learning This secondary course is intended to give Spanish-speakers with some grasp of English the building blocks towards proficiency. This class is open to graduates of the Basic ELL course or anyone who can pass an entry test demonstrating their ability.
Advanced English Language Learning This advanced class is intended to help Spanish-speakers reach full proficiency in English and be able to operate freely as job seekers and entrepreneurs. This class is open to graduates of the Intermediate ELL course or anyone who can pass an entry test demonstrating their ability.
English for Customer Service This class is intended to help Spanish-speakers with limited experience with English to provide good customer service to English-speakers. This class is open to graduates of the Intermediate ELL course or anyone who can pass an entry test demonstrating their ability.
Computer Literacy Class This class is intended for those who have little to no knowledge about computers. This eight week training program will enhance the individual’s knowledge about computers and increase their technical skills. This workshop will educate participants on how to navigate through computer programs, utilize Microsoft Word, search the internet and send information via e-mail. We also provide open computer lab hours each week, which business owners can use to practice the skills learned in class. |
